CAPABILITIES
WestCor Technologies, Inc. personnel possess knowledge in a vast array of widely accepted life-cycle development standards and methodologies, such as DoD 2167A, IEEE, and adhere to Carnegie Mellon University's SEI Capability Maturity Model for software development quality.
Our personnel have provided expertise to the U. S. Air Force for the design and development of a large distributed open-architecture database application used for planning and tracking aircraft depot maintenance activities. The system network includes six (6) air force bases across the continental U. S. networked to a large shared 'corporate' database to eliminate data redundancy.
The system tracks/analyzes the material usage, cost, and progress required to perform minimum-cost maintenance operations.
Our personnel have also supplied the U. S. Air Force and U. S. Marine Corps with expert software design and development in support of their ground tactical air control systems currently deployed in Europe and Asia. The support included major enhancements to the tactical communications capability in order to attain TADIL J Network Certification. WestCor Technologies, Inc. personnel also performed design and development of a Sun workstation-based application that is networked with the air control system via a local area network. The application automatically receives, processes and loads USMTF Airspace Control Order (ACO) messages to a tactical air control system database. The data is used by the system's weapon controllers, and air traffic controllers to identify friendly air corridors, FEBAs, waypoints, etc. Development of the DII COE certified automated ACO system has greatly reduced the time required to initialize and ready the tactical air control system for operational use.
Our personnel have been instrumental in the design and development of the LAN software required to support the distributed processing architecture of JPL's Deep Space Network (DSN). Our personnel were also involved in major upgrades of the DSN's telemetry processing segment, from requirements definition through system delivery for support of many NASA deep space missions.
WestCor Technologies, Inc. personnel have provided software design and development to NASA for the development of the embedded real-time system controlling the Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV) on board the Space Transportation System's (STS) suite of spacecraft. The system is designed to simultaneously process camera commands from both mission control personnel, and space shuttle astronauts using an equipment suite of 14 CCTV cameras and 4 control monitors.
